to my friends :)

over the years, i have came to realize that i have many great friends around me.. i am not sure if i have ever took the time to thank each and everyone of you. i really appreciate what each of you bring into my life, its really wonderful knowing all of you.

i know this post may seem rather random (no, its not triggered by anything), but i have been wanting to write something like this for quite a while now, just that i was never in the right frame of mind when i was sitting at my computer. but rite now, with some easy listening kinda music playing, it all comes more easily.

those furthest away from me are the ones that i would like to thank the most.. its really heartwarming to know that you all still remember me even though we dun quite talk that often anymore. guess when life gets busy, the time difference just potentiates the lack of free time. i really appreciate the cards and whatever u guys send over.. and i know not everything sent over is in the pix below, but i just grabbed whatever was conveniently around.. :p its always such a joy to find a card, or a parcel waiting for me when i get home. the ripping open of the packaging or envelope is shear delight.. :) and with you guys, i know that we can talk about anything without any judgment passed, its really a great feeling! i hope june comes soon! ;)

yeah!

i collected my car back today. this is truly a case of not appreciating what you have, until it is gone! it was so difficult to cope without my car for the last 9 days as it went for a re-spray. but i must say, i was so elated today! the color is fantastic, and all those awful scratches are gone.. :) rocks. couldn't really take a picture of my car cuz my phone camera can't seem to capture the real color of my car.. haha

and yeah, the gp posting is over! well, though it was kinda fun and our gp was really patient and nice, the hours were just way too long! 9-5/6 everyday is longer than what i do in the normal hospital days.. haha. thankfully, the clinic was just at bedok, i can't imagine having to spend another hour taking a bus after the long day!

parkway rocks. haha. it has everything i need, well, except zara under a roof and so near my house! borders, apple, gramaphone, sembawang, racket restringing shop, royal sporting house, nike, adidas, best, harvey norman, challenger, cold storage, giant, my optician, all the pharmacies and all, even prints. haha. yeah, rocks!! haha, i could on and on abt all the shops, but u get the idea.. :p

lastly, my furniture is coming soon. so exciting, can't wait to see if it turns out good :)

movies always give you the perfect love story, and the most tragic disasters. sometimes, some can touch you, but there's that rare one that really stings.

i am back to my photowhoring and gluttony ways! well, actually, these photos are from a while back, and technically, i've not taken pictures in a while.. :p

so this was the day of our PROs (our final exams for year 3).. and we were so happy that it was over! :D we had lunch at sun and moon, then just unwound by walking around in town aimlessly and then decided to head down to my place for a short movie - Juno, and some guitar heroes. i will talk abt Juno some other time, though i am sure most pple have already caught it..

so this is the uber competitive michelle playing guitar heroes, being very stressed she lost to fish!

yes, she didn't wanna have her picture taken cuz she was losing once again :p

and instead, she retorted to taking pictures of byebye arms.. haha. she insists that she doesn't have byebye arms but aud has because she does her triceps curls but aud doesn't exercise.. lol!

yes, because the console can only entertain 2 pple at once, we went around photowhoring after watching the movie.. :p

hmmm, the reason that we were grinning ourselves silly was cuz our photographer was really funny. she refused to lift her arms up straight, and resorted to tip toeing and goodness knows what else so she could get the camera high enough. then mich just exclaimed, "are u afraid of wobbling yr byebye arms?" and then also something else abt if she had hairy armpits or sth.. LOL. after those comments, we got our picture v quickly :p

after much photowhoring - which incidentally makes pple hungry, we went down to A-Roy thai for dinner.. SO GOOD! :D this is mich and aud with their stuffed chicken wings.

ooh, and the best part, mango sticky rice.. the mangoes are really so incredibly sweet :)

after a meal with some desserts, we went for proper desserts at the cheesecake cafe :)


i had my usual rum and raisin cheese cake, which was as good as ever.. hehe. we were so exhausted, and ended up just lounging around.. the atmosphere there is so relaxed and conducive for after dinner snooze talks.. :p

in a rather impromptu fashion, we decided that we needed more excitment in our lives after the months of slogging, and what better place than to return to the sinful grounds of audrey's attic! we had a new toy to play with, DDR on the Wii.. it can be quite funny cuz there's the added element of the Wii remote that can be swung around.. haha. and i was/have always been an awful klutz when it comes to such game. aud picked up the game quite quickly though.. haha


other than DDR, we also indulged in some KTV.. really ancient songs. think beatles, carpenters etc.. haha. i didn't even know most of the songs.. lol! but, it was a really short session since we were just singing so awfully.. i mean, how in the world do u sing to carpenters rite?!

after the failed attempt at singing, we amused ourselves by playing this game called "In Between". on a side note, after watching 赌场风云, my interest in poker and texas holdem is rekindled.. hehe. ok, back to In Between, so we gambled.. and kenrick and aud were the biggest losers, having to buy in! i won enough to get free pancakes from macs for breakfast.. :) which i happily ate with an alarming amount of margarine.. haha.



after some mahjong and Wii as well, we had breakfast, and went home for a good and well deserved rest.. ahhh :) that marked a start of a good one and a half week of holidays, which i so sorely miss rite now..

the first monday of the hols started with a movie (30 Days of Night) and dinner and talk nonsense kinda day.. in other words, a lazy day. yeah.. haha.

after the movie, we played taboo, and actually were bored enough to practically finish 3/4 of the box of cards.. and after that, the conversation turned to coconuts and chest nuts. lol, i dunno how that happened, but it must have something to do with this t-shirt we saw that said "shake your coconuts".. hmmm, and then mich went on to comment that aud only has chest nuts, not coconuts.. ;) aud then proceeded to steal mich's phone to msg someone else, saying "I have big boobs".. LOL. the funny thing is that when mich said aud had chestnuts, she stared at her own chest for a while.. HMMM.

this is a random shot of mich, the cooking mama (and by some accounts, the perfect wife as well), and the spread of steamboat food that was prepared for us! mmmm :) the food and the dips were quite good.. :) look at the spread! mich, the pork and beef were fantastic.. u really should've tried the beef :p

the next day of hols was a CG gathering.. we bought lotsa food from around my house.. bah ku teh, prawn noodles, laksa, durian puffs.. we wanted to buy more stuff, but it was kinda getting late and the smell of food in the car was intoxicating.. :p

after food we were supposed to go sing ktv.. butbut, i didn't book thinking there'd surely be space.. turns out there wasn't. evange then commented that perhaps the other meddies were singing there, and when we reached, that was indeed the case! meichin and gang, and the yunnam pple were singing in the large room.



yes, we went to parkway before singing, and kenrick bought his SOFT slippers.. and yes, nancy insisted on putting her pretty fingers there.. tsktsk, these 2 ah..

ok, i am tired, its such a long post.. i shall save the rest for another time.. haha

The REAL Slow Things

ok, i have removed the real thing that is slowing down my blog - the embedded video of Catherine Lim. so now, the chatterbox is so much faster.

9-6pm clinics is not doing any good for my throbbing head. it is clearly too small to sustain any sort of focus for such prolonged periods of time. time slows to such a crawl.......

the rain is incessant. its ridiculous how it rains all through the day and stops at night. it really should be the other way around. it would be so conducive for insomniacs.

The Slow Things in Life

i think, i've not taken public transport in too long. i had totally forgotten the impossible 45min waits for a bus. oooh, now i remember why i stopped taking buses altogether.

and my firefox is screwy.. it is so slow, it takes like 132s to load a page at times. well, i shall switch to Opera, it seems to be working fine so far.

dun think i will ever be a GP.. sure, u make a comfortable living and can choose yr hours.. but really, there are too many cough and colds, too many diabetics and obese patients.. it just doesn't seem very interesting. but its only the first day, maybe there will be more interesting stuff to come :) on the bright side, there is good food and proximity to home where i'm at :)

ian was like rattling a list of things he wanted to get, and i was thinking to myself, if i ever made a wishlist, it'd be too long and too scary. haha.

i think spontaneity is the way to go.. :p

yup, anw, tt day i was limping.. grrr. thanks to a stray foot! but still, i made my way to this place in clarke quay, albeit rather slowly!! wanping saw this place called health and beauty once, and thot that she wanted to eat healthy food for a change.. so in we went.. .. ;)



the 3 of us shared this steamboat thingie.. yes, it was certainly very healthy - loads of veges and a few tiny STRIPS of meat. omg, so unsatisfying!

mich was however, more contented with her duck rice and i dunno what. haha

oh yes, this was what a pot looked like as it slowly stewed.. it was so slow, and we were just starving

this was post meal.. taken with the camera placed on self timer at the adjacent table, which was entirely possible because the whole restaurant was empty! HAHA.

and we had to use the self timer because the waitress did not seem to know how to use the camera. she was always pressing the button in such a hurry, with such incredible force, that the camera always wobbled whenever she attempted to snap a picture. gee.

and thus we concluded, we had to supplement out unsatisfying meal with some sinful decadence - desserts :)

and went to the nectarie. i seem to go there a lot with my classmates!


this was my order, raspberry chocolate gateux. i love both raspberries and chocolate, so it was indeed, a fantastic combination :)

claire's strawberry waffle with jack daniel's ice cream. my my, i got to eat a good portion of this cause claire was too full. can i say, it was just so good? the picture isn't very nice, but trust me, it was just so good :D the strawberries were SO sweet.

ok, enough about food. i feel like i am ALWAYS eating now adays. this was a chinese new year celebration kinda thing at audrey's place! haha.. we started late at night, and with guitar heroes and some Wii! damn, out very own rocker chick(s)!

the girls..

ok, and then, we played a series of really amusing games. first, we started with this game, which i find it rather difficult to describe, but the gist is, there are forfeits. so each forfeit involves consuming either a shot of alcohol, 2 mango tarts or 2 kueh bankits. ok, the thing is, the mango tarts were quite awful tasting, and the kueh bankit, after u have about 4, yr mouth dries up like a __________. ok, so below are a series of pictures showing how ian was terrorizing kenrick, and force feeding him mango tarts.


yes, kenrick had that many to eat. i think each person had to have at least 8 forfeits, and some as many as 15-20. yeah.. look at how red audrey turned

after we were high on sugar/alcohol, depending on what we ate, four of us played a really amusing game, created by the proud owner, evangline tung! the blanket game. today, me and evange were talking abt it again with kenrick, and we concluded that outsiders who have not played the game, do not understand the true fun and joys of the game. i mean, its really a very enjoyable game! :D anw, i shall not elaborate more here, i'd leave u guessing with the picture below.. :)

yes, after all the havoc, and a really eye opening, "Have you ever... _________?" game, we proceeded to the more mundane computer games again..

and the proud owner to the audgasms poses here.. thank you for yr house! we left so late, all exhausted, but it was a really good nite :)
